Real Estate Personal Experiences
Lessons from My Journey
Buying my third property should have been an exciting milestones in my life. I had envisioned a smooth process, filled with anticipation and excitement. Instead, it quickly turned into one of the most frustrating and eye-opening experiences I’ve ever had. I encountered a lack of professionalism, and it became clear that the agency involved was more focused on making a sale than doing their job properly.
When I purchased the property, the agency assured me that everything was in order — all bills were paid. Unfortunately, this was not true. The property had over €3,000 in unpaid water bills that I was not informed about, and the electricity was connected to the neighboring property rather than the one I purchased. These were not minor oversights — they were critical details that should have been disclosed before completing the purchase. The agency failed to warn me, misrepresented the status of the bills, and did not provide the transparency I deserved as a buyer. Resolving these issues required extra time, money, and effort to make the property fully functional.
To make matters even more frustrating, the agency I had trusted for over ten years was later declared bankrupt, leaving me with no legal recourse. Yet despite these serious lapses, they continue selling properties in the area today. Experiencing this firsthand made me realize how essential it is to work with professionals who are competent, honest, and genuinely prioritize their clients’ needs.
This experience was a turning point for me. I realized that real estate transactions are not just about buying or selling properties — they are about trust, communication, and accountability. I wanted to create a business that would raise the standard, where every client could feel fully informed, supported, and confident at every step. Honesty and integrity became the foundation of my company, and my mission was straightforward: ensure that my clients’ interests always come first.
Starting my own real estate business was both challenging and necessary. I wanted to make sure that no client would have to endure the kind of stress and financial risk I had faced. At my company, transparency and proactive communication are essential. We take the time to explain every detail, anticipate potential challenges, and provide clients with the information they need to make informed decisions.
Choosing the right professionals is critical, whether it’s your real estate agent, your team, or your vendors. One small oversight or lack of communication can result in serious financial, legal, and emotional consequences. In my business, I make it a priority to ensure that every person I work with operates at the highest level of professionalism. Trust and competence are non-negotiable, and protecting clients’ investments and peace of mind is always our focus.
For clients, my advice is simple: take the time to research the people you work with. Ask questions, verify their experience, and pay attention to how they communicate. A reliable agent will guide you clearly, anticipate potential issues, and act in your best interests. Unfortunately, my experience revealed that not all agents do this — some prioritize their own gain over their clients’ well-being. My company was created to eliminate that approach and set a higher standard for the industry.
Being proactive is another lesson I learned early on. Problems in real estate often arise from overlooked details or insufficient communication. Whether it’s unpaid bills, utility connections, or legal complications, anticipating issues before they affect the client is essential. By addressing these challenges ahead of time, we protect clients from unnecessary stress and financial loss while building trust and long-term relationships.
Looking back, I can see how much the industry benefits when professionals hold themselves to a higher standard. My difficult experience as a buyer taught me lessons that I now apply to every client interaction. I understand the anxiety and uncertainty involved in purchasing property, and I use this empathy to guide my approach. By providing clarity, honesty, and reassurance at every stage, I can help clients feel informed, supported, and confident throughout the process.
Ultimately, real estate is about more than transactions. It’s about relationships, accountability, and integrity. My mission is to create an experience where clients feel respected and empowered, and where the mistakes I encountered never happen to anyone else. Whether you’re buying a property or starting a real estate business, my advice is clear: prioritize professionalism, transparency, and trust above all else. The right choices will safeguard your investment, your reputation, and your peace of mind.
